Bio:
I am Chief Technology Officer at CoDA - Center for Digital Archaeology, a non-profit company affiliated with UC Berkeley. We are dedicated to creating and leveraging state-of-the-art data management technologies for the preservation and sharing of our worldwide cultural heritage. I received my Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, where I co-founded several initiatives, including the award winning Open Knowledge and the Public Interest (OKAPI), and the Media Vault Program. An archaeological photographer by training, I was the Media Team lead for the Çatalhöyük Research Project for more than 7 years and continue to on heritage preservation projects worldwide. Currently, I am leading the development of Codifi, an integrated mobile solution for turning buried content into discoverable, data-driven stories.
Why You Joined the Lab:
The THL is a tremendous framework for sharing ideas and collaborating on project. It's just getting better. As a focus point for digital humanities scholars, or humanities scholars who are working digitally, I am doing my part to support this enterprise.
