Bio:
Rosa Lisbeth Navarrete Moreno is a recent graduate of University of California, Berkeley with an English degree. Before her time at Cal she worked and interned for television and film companies, such as: ColorForce, Inc. in association with DreamWorks Studios, Disney, Univision Network, and Mun2 with ImaginaUs Productions. Her specialties are in film/television production, film editing, script coverage, and administrative work for productions and non-profit organizations. She is also a graduate of Inner-City Filmmakers, a non-profit film school based in Los Angeles; the program's goal is to diversify the film and television industry. This film school nurtured Rosa's artistic and administrative qualities. Rosa is now a Research Assistant for Lisa Wymore in the Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies Department at University of California, Berkeley. Through the TDPS department, she was able to work as Projection Designer and Director of Photography for the performance "From the Field to the Table" shown at Zellerbach Playhouse. FFTT was a collaborative work between Urban Bush Women Leadership Institute and the TDPS department at Cal. Rosa recorded and edited interviews with people who value community and fight to break down racism. This project was essential for informing audience members on food justice and its relationship with racism and oppression. The performance work and research reflected a different perspective in hopes to create a healthier and unified future for all. Interviews ranged from the founder of Farms to Grow, Inc. to representatives from The People's Institute for For Survival and Beyond.

Bio:
LISA WYMORE, Assistant Professor M.F.A., Dance – University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Professor Wymore began her graduate study at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she was awarded a Creative and Performing Arts Fellowship, an Outstanding Achievement Award, and a Moe Family Award for her creativity. After graduating with an M.F.A. in Dance in 1998, she moved to Chicago and began her career as dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She was a faculty member within the Northwestern University Dance Program from 2000 to 2004. Wymore is the Co-Artistic Director of Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts; a dance-theater-performance group based in San Francisco. SWDA is best known for its intricate multi-media dance/theater work that combines sophisticated choreography with clever uses of technology. Our work strives towards a richness of experience that is as entertaining as it is experimental. The company has won numerous awards and has toured both nationally and internationally. For more information please visit: smithwymore.org Currently Wymore is working on two large-scale projects. 1. A new work by Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts entitled "Apparatus". The prestigious ODC Theater in San Francisco is presenting the piece February 25-27, 2011. “Apparatus” is a witty, wild, and interactive new dance/theater piece that uses the language of cinema to reveal the complex layers involved in performing one’s self on the stage, in front of the camera, and in real life. Essentially a dance about acting, the work is about a fictional team of actors, directors and crew struggling to shoot a movie, also called “Apparatus”. Featuring intensely physical movement, live film and audience interaction, the work is a beautifully intricate and fragile puzzle that teeters constantly on the edge of collapse. 2. Creating a group of interconnected digital media labs within the University of California system and branching Concordia University in Canada. The project is called the Integrated Distance Lab. The goal is to create a highly robust and consistent system (or ecosystem) to support regular co-located performances in real time across the network utilizing digital video and sound technology. Participants in the project run their own digital media centers and will regularly meet to share best research practices, protocols for network optimization, share software, and develop performance strategies for individual artistic practices.
