2AC Introduction to Archaeology Spring 2013
The subject cover over the semester will help students understand the diversity in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and California. When we talk of diversity we mean the diversity in respect to the archaeological remains and the people who created them. The course will introduce students to basic concepts and theories of archaeological thought.

Anthropological Inquiry
The Anthropological Inquiry working group is a project that calls for a critical engagement with what can be broadly described as practices in contemporary societies. This working group foregrounds the ethnographic phenomena across the social sciences and the humanities and invites graduate students and scholars to an intellectual conversation across the disciplines as well as topical and geographical interests.

African Studies MRG Dissertation Workshop
The Dissertation Workshop is designed to help graduate students strengthen their dissertation projects and improve their chances of funding, as well as to facilitate UC-wide, interdisciplinary networking among graduate students and faculty across the disciplines in African Studies. The workshop will provide an opportunity for ten graduate students to present their current dissertation research proposals (or other work) and receive critical feedback on their projects from fellow graduate students and a group of UC faculty
