As Director of Staff Diversity Initiatives, Sidalia engages staff and management on diversity efforts for all levels of employment. This work includes developing programs, policies and practices for staff that address campus climate, staff development and community engagement.
Prior to coming to UC Berkeley in 2008, Sidalia led the Global Diversity and Inclusion organization at the Hewlett-Packard Company. She consulted with company leaders worldwide on developing and implementing the company’s diversity and inclusion strategic plan. She developed the global diversity and inclusion curriculum, HP’s virtual classroom “Diversity Dialogues” series that engaged HP executives in dialogue with employees worldwide, and HP’s global executive development rotation program for diverse and high performing graduate students. Prior to joining HP, Sidalia was the Diversity Manager at Pacific Bell.
Her background includes more than 20 years of corporate and consulting positions in human resources, instructional design, teaching and management. She is a member of the Diversity Collegium think tank, the Diversity 2000 Conference Steering Committee, and several other diversity-focused organizations. Sidalia has an Ed.D. in Human Performance from the School of Education at the University of Southern California, a masters of education administration from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Scripps College.
