10a. Ludlow Castle: Home of the Earl of Bridgewater's Family, for whom Milton Wrote Comus.

This castle is in a remote landscape, verging on the Celtic culture which the Earl of Bridgewater was appointed to control. In some ways Comus is a magician like Shakespeare's rebellious Welsh wizard Glendower, in Henry IV Part 1. Image: UCB Shakespeare Program Collection, photographer Velma Bourgeois Richmond.
